Privacy Policy Last updated: 9-1-2026

Honor ("Honor," "we," "us") is operated by Honor Technologies, LLC., 1783 Humboldt Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55403. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It covers both the Honor mobile app and honor.golf.

The short version: we do not sell or share your personal information, and your trip is visible to the people on your trip.

Information we collect

Account information you provide. Your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, golf handicap, home course, and Venmo username.

Content you add. Trips, itineraries, lodging and addresses, tee times, scores, bets, expenses, settlement records, and anything you post to the Honor Roll — photos, video, voice notes, and text — shared with the people on that trip.

People you invite. When you invite someone to a trip or a game, you give us the name and the phone number or email address you selected so we can send them an invitation.

Placeholder accounts. You can add someone to a trip before they've joined Honor. We hold the name and contact detail you entered so that person can claim the account later, or ask us to remove it.

Usage and device data. Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports, used to operate, secure and improve the app. [CONFIRM and name the tools — Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or none.]

Website. honor.golf runs on Squarespace, which sets cookies and collects basic analytics such as pages viewed and approximate location from IP address. If you submit a form on the site, we receive what you typed.

What we don't collect. We don't track your location in the background, we don't collect an advertising identifier, and we don't track your activity outside the app.

How we use information

To create your account, run your trips, apply handicap strokes, grade bets, calculate who owes whom, show the Honor Roll to your group, send invitations you initiate, answer your emails, and keep the service working and secure.

We do not use your trips, scores, photos or messages to build an advertising profile, and we do not use them to train advertising or recommendation systems for anyone else.

How we share information

Your trip group. People you invite to a trip can see that trip — the itinerary, roster, scores, bets, expenses, settlement, and the Honor Roll. Your handicap and home course are visible to players you share a trip with.

Service providers. These companies process data on our behalf, under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes:

Google Firebase / Google Cloud — accounts, database and file storage
Google Maps Platform — address lookup and drive times
Apple WeatherKit — destination forecasts
Twilio — text-message invitations
golfcourseapi.com — course ratings, slopes, pars and stroke indexes
Resend — invitations and account email
Squarespace — honor.golf and its forms

Venmo. When you tap to pay, Honor opens Venmo with the recipient, amount and note filled in. Honor never holds, processes or transfers money, and we never receive your Venmo password, balance, or bank or card details. What happens inside Venmo is between you and Venmo, under their terms.

Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with data brokers, advertisers, or anyone building marketing profiles, and we do not share phone numbers or contacts for marketing. We disclose information only as described here or where we are legally required to — and if we are compelled to, we'll tell you unless we're prohibited from doing so.

If Honor is ever sold. If the company is acquired or merges, your information may transfer as part of that business. We'll notify you, and any new owner remains bound by this policy for information collected under it.

Text messages

If you invite someone by text, we send a single invitation message through Twilio. See our SMS Messaging page for details and opt-out instructions. Reply STOP to opt out.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your account and trip information for as long as your account is active. Trips are meant to be kept — that's most of the point — so we don't delete them on a schedule.

You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. When you do, we delete your profile, your media and your personal information. Content that belongs to a shared trip — a score in a group scorecard, a settled expense — may remain in that trip's record for the other players, with your name removed. Backups clear on their normal cycle within 60 days.

If someone added you as a placeholder before you joined, email hello@honor.golf and we'll remove that record.

Apple requires in-app account deletion for any app that lets people create an account. Your current policy says "email us," which is both a review-rejection risk and weaker than what your website promises. Ship the Settings screen before you publish this paragraph.

Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it to run Honor. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise — if there's ever a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile in the app, reply STOP to opt out of texts, delete your account in Settings, and email hello@honor.golf to access, correct, or get a copy of your information.

California residents. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. You have the right to know what we collect, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email hello@honor.golf to make a request.

Children

Honor is not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll revise the date above, and we'll notify you in the app before any change that meaningfully affects how we handle your information.
